Andraya's Prom

My daughter Andraya (in the bright yellow dress) had her Junior Prom this past weekend. Andraya and all of her friends met at the park for photos and then on to dinner and then prom. I thought Andraya looked stunning. It’s hard to believe that she is almost 17 and soon to be a senior.

We hosted the post-post-prom party at our house. At one point we had almost 20 kids and a lot of them slept over. A few even pulled all nighters! I finally kicked them all out and went to bed at 9:30am. We were all exhausted but my daughter had the time of her life!

Bunny Days

Every year we bring bunnies to our studio before Easter to do portraits with children. Hoffer's Tropic Life Pets has been wonderful about loaning the bunnies to us for each season and the kids were so excited to see them. Ron built us a brand new set from scratch and his hard work really paid off. The portraits turned out great and it looks like everyone had a fun time this weekend.

Lill Purse Party

This past Saturday, we were happy to host a party featuring purses from 1154 Lill Studio. 1154 LILL Studio is The Original Custom Handbag Company established in 1999. There you can mix and match from over 28 styles and 150 ever-changing fabrics to create the handbag of your dreams. We were fortunate enough to have a client who is one of the Wisconsin reps. Lori and I have been talking for over a year about bringing Lill purses to our studio. We were finally able to host a party here and it was so much fun. Everyone got to look through hundreds of fabric samples and find a design that fits their lifestyle. We got to meet some great new women and also have some of our friends out as well. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon and I can't wait to see my new purse! Ron decided to hold off on buying a man purse... for now.

2009 Senior Youth National Conference

Ron and I had the incredible opportunity of traveling to St. Pete's Beach, FL for a conference on senior photography. While we didn't get much opportunity to site-see, we did enjoy trying some of the local restaurants in between our 3-4 hour long seminars. We started our trip by flying into Tampa Bay and renting our car. We picked up some friends who flew in from Minnesota and attempted to fit all of our luggage into a Mazda 3. Once we got to the resort we immediately took some pictures of the beach and the gulf coast because we knew that was pretty much the only time we saw the beach the entire trip.

We learned a lot during this trip and came home with several new ideas for backgrounds, poses, and designs. It was great to talk to with photographers from around the country and see what everyone else is doing. And to top it all off, Ron got to eat at his first Waffle House.

A Great Place for Lunch

Every couple of weeks, we all like to take a break and treat ourselves to a nice lunch out. One of our favorite places to go is Elm Grove Perk & Pub located on Bluemound Rd. They offer a variety of food ranging from salads and sandwiches to pizza and burgers. Ron's New Year's resolution was to try eating more salads so today he got the Pub Salad while Melissa enjoyed the Tomato Basil Pizza. Perk & Pub is also a great place to stop by for martinis in the evening. We have to enjoy those a little less often than the lunches... otherwise we'd never get any work done!
