Memorial Day Weekend

My family and I went up North for Memorial Day weekend. We planted 100 trees on our property just West of Wausau on Saturday. On Sunday we spent the day at our Amish friend’s farm. My wife and kids have never seen nor experienced the Amish lifestyle. Owen and Ada and their children are wonderful people. Owen gave us a buggy ride and made handmade ice cream for us. Then they gave us a tour of their beautiful home.

After the tour it was time for chores. We got to milk some cows and even my wife and son gave it a try. After that, we fed the calves some bottles of milk and then we fed and watered the pigs.

I was thrilled to offer my family this great experience. My father is from a farm in northern Wisconsin. Growing up, I was always up there helping my cousins do chores. I know how to milk a cow, muck a stall and throw bales of hay. I used to spend weeks on the farm as a kid during the summer. Living in the city, my kids didn’t get that experience. It was a real joy to have the opportunity for my family to experience something like this.

Next time we head up North I can’t wait to visit the amish farm, get some of Ada’s awesome homemade bread and sweet rolls. Her apple butter is to die for too!

Baby Adrik

Jennie and Joel came to me for a maternity session about a month ago. They are an awesome couple. We had a great time creating some wonderful maternity portraits for them.

This week they brought in baby Adrik for me to photograph. What a cute bundle of joy! He was a hungry little guy too. We had to pause during the session and wait for him to finish a bottle before we resumed. By then, Adrik was happy and we got a ton of great images. Thanks Jennie and Joel!

Katie from Tosa West

Katie is one of our Ambassadors for Wauwatosa West High School. We had so much fun during her session and I love how her images turned out. Katie has such a great attitude and I think it really shows through her portraits.

Andraya's Prom

My daughter Andraya (in the bright yellow dress) had her Junior Prom this past weekend. Andraya and all of her friends met at the park for photos and then on to dinner and then prom. I thought Andraya looked stunning. It’s hard to believe that she is almost 17 and soon to be a senior.

We hosted the post-post-prom party at our house. At one point we had almost 20 kids and a lot of them slept over. A few even pulled all nighters! I finally kicked them all out and went to bed at 9:30am. We were all exhausted but my daughter had the time of her life!
