Treehaven 2008

From May 11th-14th, Ron and Melissa participated in the Wisconsin Professional Photographers School in Tomahawk, WI. The WPPS school takes place at a facility known as Treehaven in rural northern Wisconsin. Ron took a class on outdoor lighting from photographer Ken Sklute, and Melissa's class consisted of marketing and studio management from Clark and Rachel Marten. They were both eager to return home and try some new techniques and ideas to maintain the studio's contemporary feel.

Downtown Milwaukee

A couple of weeks ago Ron was able to go out around the Milwaukee area with a few of his friends who are photographers. They brought some models along to try out some new poses and take advantage of the architecture and backgrounds downtown Milwaukee has to offer.

Ron Receives President's Plaque from SEWPPA

For the past year Ron has served as the president of the Southeastern Wisconsin Professional Photographers' Association. His duties included overseeing the board of directors as well as the monthly general membership meetings. Ron has been a member of SEWPPA for over 10 years and welcomed the opportunity to give back to the association by serving as president. He is looking forward to having more free time to devote back to the studio while still being an active member of SEWPPA. Ron is seen here receiving his President's Plaque from the incoming president, Mary Braunsdorf.

Girls' Night Out 2008

On Saturday, March 15th we held our 2nd Annual Girls' Night Out here at the studio. It was another big success and we had an even bigger turn out than the previous year. Women were lined up outside the doors at 4:45 ready for their goodie bags and to see all the vendors. We had a bigger variety of vendors this year featuring WhimsiKidz, Silpada, Uppercase Living, L'Bri, Highlands Cafe, LASH handbags, The Purse Lady, Anna Orta clothing, Sandy's Hair Designs, and Massage. Thank you to all of our vendors and everyone who attended. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

WPPA State Convention

Last weekend we got a chance to go to Madison for the Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association Spring Convention. We were able to see 9 seminars featuring speakers from around the country. The topics ranged from sales and marketing to lighting techniques and everything in between. There was a trade show where we could see some new backgrounds and check out the latest in digital products. It was a great opportunity to visit with some of our friends who own studios around the state and compare notes. The convention is also a chance to get away for a few days and now we're back in the studio with lots of new and exciting ideas for 2008.

Ron's Daughter is a Photographer Too!

Ron's daugher Andraya is now a sophomore in high school. She is really enjoying her first photography course and has started carrying her camera everywhere she goes. A few weeks ago, Ron and his family were watching his son's basketball game and Andraya captured these images of Ron in his many moods.
